Ribbon worms: the gifts that keep on giving! As if last month's bizarre, ballooning worm wasn't enough, fisherman Wei Cheng Jian recently scooped up this emerald marvel near a dock in Penghu, Taiwan.
These incredible animals (phylum Nemertea) rely on a tongue-like proboscis (seen here in pink) for a wide variety of tasks, including grasping for and eating prey, and getting around! There are over 1,000 known species of ribbon worms, so it's no surprise that they keep popping up. We can only imagine what's coming next!
