Spear-fisherman Daniel Joline considers diving the kelp forests off the California coast a magical experience – and it's not hard to see why. He and his dive buddy got quite the surprise Friday when a gray whale and her calf appeared right underneath him. While he shouldn't have touched the whale – it's dangerous, not to mention illegal in the United States (seriously, do not harass wild animals) – we can't help but share in his obvious excitement at such a rare, special encounter.
