We've certainly seen our fair share of cephalopods squeezing into tight spots, but this video from biologists at San Fransisco's Steinheart Aquarium gives us a new vantage point. Instead of just handing over the octo-food, staff place the meal in a screw-top jar and challenge the cephalopods to extract the tasty prize. A camera inside the jar gives us a unique look at how these incredible animals are able to use their arms to skilfully manipulate objects. Using unique feeding enrichment like screw-top jars keeps the facility's dexterous octopuses mentally stimulated, and teaches them important hunting and foraging skills.
