Captured on video by the NOAA exploratory vessel Okeanos Explorer, this sea cucumber (Peniagone sp.) has quite the familiar face. The Lovecraft-inspired Cthulhu lookalike would normally be traversing the ocean floor and sucking up sediment to extract delicious nutrients, but we imagine Okeano's ROV gave it a little nudge. It's not the first time a Peniagone cuke has blown us away – check out this stunner!
