As far as catchy, curiosity-inducing YouTube video titles are concerned, “Lion Cub Stuck in Buffalo Butt” ranks pretty high up there. And it must be said, the video does pretty much what it says on the box: a clearly hungry cub burrows its way a little too vigorously into the posterior end of a buffalo carcass … and finds that getting out is not quite as easy as getting in. And while it would be easy to make the youngster out to be the, er, butt end of this joke, you quickly realise there’s a serious side to the situation: if the cub doesn’t wriggle itself out in time, there’s a good chance it may suffocate. If you go by the comments stream, the story did have a happy ending and the cub was rescued when its fellow pride members “ate it out” of its predicament. We hope so!
