We saw this leopard in Deception in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Botswana. The leopard prowled around the campsite during the night and drank all the water from a plastic basin we left on on of the camping tables. In the morning this guy obviously decided he was still thirsty and came around for a second sip. We were in the process of making our morning coffe before we were heading out and then this youngster strolled into our camp. We quickly made for the car.

Wildlife SOS

A leopard is probably the last visitor you expect to join you at the breakfast table, but it comes with the territory when you're camping in the wilds of Botswana. Attie Cilliers spotted this curious cat in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. After spending some time investigating their campsite during the night, the young leopard returned in the morning to see what was on the breakfast menu. The video below was filmed from the safety of the Cillier's nearby vehicle as they enjoyed a special encounter with one of Africa's more elusive predators. Listen out for the leopard's unique, rasping bark at 2:38 (it's a bit of welcome break from the soundtrack!).
