Some deer are better than others at scaling fences … As this huge herd of elk makes its way across a road in Bozeman, Montana near Yellowstone National Park, one straggler has a bit of trouble getting over the tricky obstacle. After several gangly attempts, it takes a little scare from a passing vehicle to coax the deer into a run-up that finally results in success.
Although there have been a few alarmist reports that animals are fleeing the Yellowstone boundaries to escape the imminent eruption of the park's super-volcano, it's more likely that they are simply trying to find more abundant grazing areas. You know ... like they do every year?
We're glad that this guy eventually plucked up the courage to leap the fence and was happily reunited with his fellow deer buddies. We imagine if deer could do a happy dance, he'd be doing one.
CORRECTION: Deer CAN do a happy dance.
