For most of us, getting ready to leave the office means little more than wrapping up emails, tidying the desk and hitting the lights. But when your office is in the middle of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, things can get a little more complicated.

Staff at Mombo Camp in Moremi Game Reserve were getting ready to call it a day when an unexpected visitor waltzed in to check out the digs. The curious hyena (who clearly has some boundary issues) didn’t cause any harm. But the intrusion was enough to unsettle the unsuspecting employees.
“I got quite a fright but kept still,“ one staff member said in a Facebook post. “For the next couple of minutes I waited in silence watching this cheeky scavenger go about his ways ... quite a fun way to end off the day, and certainly adds to the adrenaline rush for the walk home.”
Like other predators, hyenas are more likely to see you as an easy target if you appear small (or dead). They don’t typically work a nine-to-five, so you’re not likely to run into one by the copy machine, but should you ever find yourself in a similar situation, the best plan of action is to stand your ground.
