Imagine you’re viewing and experiencing nature from 360° while lounging comfortably and allowing the elements to lull you. Sounds pretty good, right? Well, American designer and artist Kate Brown has created a sculpture that allows nature lovers to do just that.

Her sculpture – called Etazin – allows loungers to spin in all directions while feasting their eyes on their surroundings. The streamlined steel structure conjures up images of gyroscopes or old astronomical measuring instruments, but Brown also got much of her inspiration from ‘moon gates’, architectural features that have their roots in Chinese architecture and design. These circular gates are designed to welcome visitors into the peaceful gardens of their hosts, the garden being a place of tranquillity and quiet contemplation. And that seems like a pretty good description of Brown’s creations.
Doesn’t that look like the perfect spot to stretch out and connect with the natural world around you?
