9 years agoDropping fish out of a plane might seem like a bizarre thing to do, but it happens several times a year in Utah. Many of the state's high-altitude lakes are not accessible by truck, but still make good fishing locations for anglers who are willing to make the trek. The solution? Dropping a fish bomb to replenish stock.
To make the aquatic air-drop happen, planes are fitted with special compartments that fill with water to hold the fish. Aerial stocking pilots collect the fish from various hatcheries at airports across the state.
