A new landmark ruling in Indonesia gives manta rays a bit of safe swimming space ... six million square kilometres of it!
10 years agoDiver Jane Headley and her husband were lucky enough to witness this manta ray rescue on their SCUBA trip to the Philippines last April. A fishing line had sliced right through the ray's wing, but after several attempts, their dive guide finally managed to remove it. "She swam with us until we were low on air and had to leave," she recalls. "On our safety stop as she continued to circle below us with another Manta."
